After 3 years of planning, selling all our possessions including our house, countless upgrades and modifications to the car and caravan, shutting down our normal lives for the foreseeable future, it all came down to 5.30am departure on the 28th April 2018.

We said our farewells to all our family and friends, We've left our jobs (for 12 months leave) and we've cleared out all our debts. Kylie has done an amazing job setting up our finances so that we have plenty of cash reserves and contingencies should the worst situation happen.

Its been hard work getting to this point....harder than I ever imagined it would be....but its so worth it. That feeling of finally pulling out of the driveway of our inlaws' house and cruising out of Melbourne is one I will never forget. It was exhilarating.

At the moment we are into our second week on the road after spending a week in Mt Gambier and now parked in Hahndorf South Australia. Already we've met some wonderful new friends as well as caught up with a few older ones. We're not quite into our stride just yet but we are loving our new life and the adventure of it all.
